Deemer A. “Bud” Cotham Aug. 28, 1940 – March 16, 2016
Deemer A. “Bud” Cotham, 75, passed away at his home in Gold Beach, Ore. on March 16, 2016. Bud was born August 28, 1940 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Deemer A., Sr. and Virginia (Furlong) Cotham. He grew up and spent much of his life in northern California – working for Owens Corning pulling green chain in a lumber mill. Bud also lived and worked on a gold claim for five years. He married Sandra Jean Trantham in Old Station, Calif. on April 10, 1999. They moved to Montana that same year where they built a log home. Bud and Sandy moved to Gold Beach in 2015. Bud enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Gold Beach, daughters, Rebecca Gile and her husband, Brett of Lake Stevens, Wash., Amberly Anderson of Noxon, Mont., Helena Paschall and her husband, Danny of Fall River Mills, Calif., Patricia Cotham of Cuero, Tex., Mary Cotham of Billings, Mont., stepdaughters, Vickie Thomason and her husband, David of Chester, Calif., Renee Fleming of Cottonwood, Calif.; brother, Linzy Cotham and his wife, Delores of Folsom, Calif.; sister, Nancy Scott of Bakersfield, Calif.; stepmother, Betty Cotham of St. Helens, Ore.; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Stout and a grandson, Clinten Hoaglen.
