Obituary for Deanna Rose Gill
Deanna Rose Gill passed away peacefully Friday, December 13, 2013. God blessed us all with her by way of Andrew and Rose Miller on January 22, 1940, in Salina, Kansas. She was the beloved wife, soul mate and dream girl to Howard Gill, Jr. His words are, "She was the best thing to ever happen to me." And we all believe she was. She was a wonderful mother to her three sons, Howard the III, Julian Todd, and Kenneth Michael; and was the coolest grandmother to Scott, Sean, Laycee, Cody and Desiree, and an even cooler great grandmother to Cameron and Mia. Deanna was the sister of Rita, Patricia, Karen, Kenneth, and Michael. She was also a beloved and loyal friend to so many others whom she loved dearly. She will be sorely missed by all. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rita, and her beloved son, Kenneth Michael. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 820 Old County Road, Brookings, Ore. The service will be on Saturday, Dec. 21, with a Rosary beginning at 12:30 p.m., and the memorial mass starting at 1:00 p.m. There will also be a lunch reception in the church parish hall immediately following the service. Deanna was an incredibly generous, but also a very pragmatic woman. She was very patriotic and loved her country very much. She was especially proud of her husband’s and sons’ selfless military service to this great country. As such, in lieu of flowers we all know she would encourage all to be as equally generous as she was to a responsible and reputable military or veteran’s related charity.
