Obituary for Crystal Lin Wiley
Crystal Lin Wiley, 28, passed away at OHSU Hospital in Portland on Thursday, Dec. 10 following a 10 day battle with an inoperable brain aneurysm. Crystal was born July 9, 1981 in Fortuna, CA, the oldest of 5 children to Michele Gnadig. She grew up there until moving to Brookings with her family in 1994. She attended Brookings Harbor High School, graduating in 1999. Following high school she began working as a housekeeper at Best Western Hotel in Brookings, a position she held until her death. She married Jason Wiley in 2002; they had a son, Dusty James. Crystal loved dancing, listening to music, photography, camping and just cruising around town. Most of all, though, she loved being a mother to her son. Survivors include her son, Dusty Wiley, stepdaughter Cayleen Wiley, mother and stepfather, Michele and Ed Gnadig, brothers, Cory, Curtis and Christopher Bones, sister, Catherine Bones, stepbrother, Todd Gnadig, all of Brookings, grandmother, Patricia Neely of Fortuna, CA, grandfather, Dean Currier of Fortuna, CA, great grandmother, Ruth Geis of Fortuna, uncle, Larry Neely and his wife, Andrea of McKinleyville, CA, aunt Darlene Neely, Patricia Vizena of Fortuna, uncle, Dan Neely and his wife, Tina of Vancouver, WA, numerous cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Johnson, stepfather, Terry Bones, grandfather, Charles Neely and great uncle, Ralph Hammond. A celebration of Crystal’s life will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 3:30pm at Living Waters Foursquare Church. Pastor Dwayne Rueffner will officiate. Inurnment will follow at W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery. A potluck reception will then follow the inurnment at Living Waters.
