Constance Hauschildt, better known as Connie, was born in Groton, South Dakota, August 24, 1925. She lived there until her junior year before moving to and graduating High School in Eugene, OR. Connie worked as a telephone operator when she met Howard Hauschildt who was home from the Army Air Corps in France. After the two married, they moved to Catching Inlet (near Coos Bay) where Howard managed a dairy farm. Eventually Howard bought the Shell station in Gold Beach were they both worked and raised their children Roger and Lyndell. Connie was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, a Daughter of the Nile, and a member of the Gold Beach Lions Club. She is survived by her daughter Lyndell and son-in-law Duane Rath; grandchildren Elizabeth, Chelsea, Christen, Sheri, Harry II and Melady; nephews Martin and Betsy Roberts, Ross and Shirley Smith, Niece Susan and Jessie Wilson, Brother Doug and Georgia Rathbun and their families. In lieu of flowers, pleas donate to the Gold Beach Fire Department, 29592 Ellensburg Avenue, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
