Obituary for Clifford "Cliff" A. Misener
Clifford A. “Cliff” Misener passed away on July 15, 2012, three days away from his 91st birthday. In his life he was a boxer, semi-pro baseball player, husband, father and US Navy Captain with valorous decorations. Cliff was a civil engineer whose work can be found in Jordan, Brazil and Indonesia. Cliff successfully retired early in his life and was able to put all three of his grandchildren through college. He was proud to have issued the oath of office at his grandson’s commissioning into the United States Army. In his retirement, he built his own house, was an avid tennis player, school board member, rose grower, salmon fisherman and expert whale watcher. He enjoyed forty years with his first wife, Lois, and 26 with his beloved Tigger (Marian.) Lois went to West Virginia, Illinois, Jordan, Brazil three times, Ecuador, Indonesia and Great Britain with Cliff before they retired back to Oregon. Tigger traveled with him to England, Scotland, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska and Iceland. Cliff was stubborn, perpetually right and beyond meticulous. He was also kind, patient, loving, proud of his family and insatiably curious on all topics. Cliff had one son who preceded him in death. He leaves behind a daughter, three grand children, and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves the world a better place. Cliff and Tigger’s families want to mention the loving care extended by Patricia, Luz, Francisco, and Erika. These wonderful people and Coastal Home Health and Hospice allowed them both to live out their days in comfort at home.
