Obituary for Clement J. Davis
Clement “Clem” J. Davis, 70 of Brookings, Oregon died March 31, 2010, with his wife at his bedside. He was born on July 15, 1939, in Antimony, Utah to Admiral Jay and Cervera (Sowards) Davis. Clem grew up in Antimony and graduated from Piute High School. Clem was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1962 and served 2 years in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged in 1964. He retired after working 30 years for the Utah Dept. of Transportation as a land surveyor. Clem married Mary Spikes Airsman on December 8, 1985. They moved to a farm in Monroe, Utah where Clem enjoyed raising horses, cattle, hay and grain. Clem and Mary moved to their retirement home in Brookings, Oregon in 2008. Clem enjoyed long walks on the beach and through the redwoods. He also enjoyed playing the stock market and fishing. Survivors include his wife Mary of Brookings; son Ricky (Christena) Davis of Las Vegas, NV; son Shannon (Brenda) Davis of Ivins, Utah; daughter Kimberly (Trevor) Heaton of Cedar City, Utah; son Jeffrey Davis of Logan, Utah; stepson Daniel Airsman of Boise, Idaho; Brother Edgar Davis; sister Juanita (Robert) Frei; and sister Colette (Eldon) Frackrell. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Doreen Ercanbrack; brother Raymond Davis; sister-in-law Edna Davis and brother –in-law Morris Ercanbrack. The Family would like to thank Curry County Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Clem. Private family graveside services will be held on April 10, 2010 in Brookings under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
