Obituary for Charles "Chuck" A. Moulton
Charles “Chuck” Moulton, 71, of Brookings passed away in Eugene, Ore., on Jan. 6, 2014. Chuck was born Sept. 17, 1942 in Monterey, Calif., to Clyde and Marquerite (Beach) Moulton. After graduating high school, Chuck joined the U.S. Army, where he served honorably for three years before being transferred to the Army Reserves for another three years. On May 6, 1986, Chuck married Sianna Keays in Reno, Nev. He began working in the fishing industry with Eureka Fisheries in 1967, where he worked his way up to plant manager. When Eureka Fisheries closed down in 2002, Chuck went to work for the Port of Brookings Harbor, running the fuel dock and ice plant until he retired. Chuck enjoyed fishing, and he loved golfing and was an avid fan of NASCAR. He was a very easy-going man, and also very funny with a spirited sense of humor. No matter the situation, Chuck could always make you laugh. Chuck is survived by five brothers: Chris Moulton of Smith River, Calif., Mike and Laurie Moulton of Eugene, Ore., Clyde Moulton of Eureka, Calif., Robert Moulton of Eureka, Calif., and Gene and Tracy Moulton of Galt, Calif; as well as 12 nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as brother Duane Moulton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge at 800 Elk Drive, Brookings, OR 97415. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
