Obituary for Catherine "Kay" Streck
Catherine (Kay) Streck, died peacefully in her sleep on March 17, 2020 at a local care facility in Brookings, Oregon. She was 93.
Born March 18, 1927 in Wappingers Falls, NY, Kay was the 3rd of 5 children. In 1949, she married William Streck of Poughkeepsie, NY and together they raised their four children. She was honored for her 30 year career working in Food Services at Arlington Central School District, as well as her athleticism actively bowling until age 86. She is recognized in Poughkeepsie Women's Bowling Hall of Fame for her dedication and work in the sport. Always active in her community, she made friends wherever she went and always had an incredible smile and a kind word for all she met. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and matriarch of her family, she will be missed greatly and loved forever. She spent the final three years of her life in Brookings, Oregon, living closer to her daughter.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph Collins of Vero Beach, FL.; her son Terrence and his wife Janette, son Robert, son Thomas, and daughter Catherine and her husband Hugh; as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
