Obituary for Bruce N. Henderson
Bruce N. Henderson, 55, passed away in Brookings after a battle with cancer on September 24, 2011. Bruce was born January 6, 1956 in Castro Valley, Calif. To Lawrence and Harriet (Tillman) Henderson. After high school, he went to work as a machinist for Paoletti Trucks, a position he held for twenty years. Bruce retired to Brookings in 2001 where he enjoyed hiking the many trails with his dog “Scooby”. He also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s fan. Survivors include his mother, Harriet Henderson of Harbor, brother, Steven Henderson, his wife Jill and their children, Elizabeth, Valerie, Rachel and Hannah, of Walnut Creek, Calif., sister, Gail Henderson and her son, Dylan Habiger of Harbor, PaPa Bob Baillie and all of his cousins in and out of the area. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence and a twin brother, Byron. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Coast Humane Society, PO Box 7833, Brookings, OR 97415. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be announced later in the year. Bruce wanted all of his trail friends to know that he’s on the “upper trail” now and hopes to see all of you again.
