Obituary for Brian John Berny
Brian John Berny, 57, of Brookings, OR, passed peacefully at home with his companion dearest Terri Ann Porter and family by his side on May 1, 2014.
He was born on July 20, 1956, in Fontana, CA, to Harry and Betty Berny. Brian was a loving father and an accomplished pilot. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed the beach, fishing and recreational shooting. His riverfront property afforded him opportunities to enjoy fog rolling in, beautiful sunsets and star gazing. Brian loved rainy days and thunder and lightning. Cooking was another favorite pastime, while listening to ZZ Top. He was an avid traveler, traveling to many states and countries, and was fluent in Spanish.
Brian was employed by ARCO as a driver of tanker trucks. He had expertise in carpet and linoleum laying and dabbled in real estate.
Survivors include his companion Terri Ann Porter of Brookings, OR; mother Betty Berny of Cottage Grove, OR; daughters Marina Louise and Natasha Denise Berny of Brookings, OR; sisters Becky Walter (Myrl) and Roxanne Williams (Alan) both of Cottage Grove, OR; and brother Mike Berny (Dana) of Astoria, OR. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Brian was preceded in death by his father.
