Obituary for Brandon Chase Kanna
Brandon Kanna died in Crescent City, CA on April 22, 2010 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was 25. Brandon was born June 27, 1984 in Klamath Falls, OR to Scott and Dena (Heintzelman) Kanna. The family moved to the Portland area when Brandon was 3. He grew up and attended schools in Milwaukie and Brookings. While in school, Brandon was active in baseball and soccer. He was very adventurous and loved a challenge. He began snow skiing when he was just 4 years old and was ready to hit the slopes after just one hour of instruction. He also practiced Jiu Jitsu and loved to be in the outdoors. In recent years, Brandon began working in construction with Bruce Bros. and quickly became proficient in many aspects of building. However, the highlight of Brandon's life arrived two years ago when he and his companion, Somer Rock, had a daughter, Bree. He was a very loving father, son and brother. Brandon will be greatly missed by his father, Scott Kanna of Brookings; mother, Dena Allen of Kalispell, MT, daughter, Bree Kanna of Brookings, sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and Jake Coatney, grandpa Don and grandma Sue, aunts: Brenda, Kim, Kelly and Kandace, uncles: Ken and Kenny. Brandon was preceded in death by his grandpa Sam and grandma Betty. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a fund set up at Chetco Federal Credit Union for Bree. A private celebration of Brandon’s life was held at Redwood Memorial Chapel.
