Billy F. Crump was born on 5/17/1953 in De Queen, Arkansas to Marion F. Crump and Eva Vay Bissell Crump. Billy was the fifth of seven children. His siblings include sister Joan Raney (deceased), brother Jackie L. Crump (deceased), brother Herbert T. Crump (deceased), sister Wanda Sue Donaldson of Rison, AR, brother Ronald L. Crump of Hazen, AR and sister Connie L. Taylor (deceased).
Billy moved to Brookings, OR in 1970 where he finished his senior year at Brookings-Harbor High School. He met Karen Jordan shortly after moving to Brookings and they were married on 10/8/1971.
He enlisted in the United Stated Air Force in July of 1973. He had five duty stations while serving in the military, including four years at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, ten years at Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento, CA, and four years at SAC Headquarters, Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE.
He retired in 1993 and moved back to Brookings, OR where he worked for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He retired for the second time in 2015.
He was as avid photographer, which he took up while stationed in Germany. He also loved N gauge model railroading and built many intricate layouts over the years.
He had many hobbies, but nothing was more important to him than his family. He has two daughters and two grandsons. Eva M. Newell is his older daughter. She lives in Brookings along with her two sons, Nicholas M. Newell and Noah D. Eiker. Amanda Noel is his younger daughter. She also lives in Brookings with her husband Travis.
