Obituary for Bill Cravens
After a hard-fought battle to live, and surrounded by his loving family, at 2:45am on July 12th Bill laid his head on his Savior’s breast. One of the best steelhead fisherman ever born, this loving husband, father, brother and uncle will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his love of family and nature which he passed on to his children. Bill was born November 6, 1960 in Redding, Calif. to William Hershal Cravens and Carol Shepard Allen. After graduating from Pioneer High School, he logged in the Redding area before relocating to the Sacramento Valley where he became a very talented journeyman concrete mason. His skills were much sought after and he managed several concrete companies including Glenn Cramer Concrete and Sunworld Landscaping until his accident in 2008. Bill was also a talented harmonica player. He is survived by his wife, Vianney, daughters, Amber and Colleen, son, Garrett, brothers, Todd and Jeff (Laurie), cousin, Leslie (Debbie) and grandchildren, Mason and Clayton. Bill also leaves behind many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Mike and Twyla of Brookings and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and a brother, John. A service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Capella by the Sea in Azalea Park with a potluck following at the Chetco Grange in Harbor. Please bring your favorite dish and memories.
