Obituary for Betty Louise Kammerer
Louise Kammerer July 25, 1928 – Feb. 10, 2018
Louise Kammerer passed away February 10, 2018 at Crescent City, California. She was born July 25, 1928 at Manteca, California to Austin and Ruby (Carrick) Smith.
Louise lived a full life of service, to her family, her community and her church. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Angels Camp, California. She faithfully attended Bible studies and Church retreats. She taught nutrition classes and loved gardening. While she lived in many places in California, she especially enjoyed the time she spent living in Hawaii.
Louise owned and operated a beauty salon for many years and was also a top seller for Century 21 Real Estate in Sacramento. She remodeled homes while living in them. She was especially proud of having completed the remodeling of a garage into an apartment at the age of 85 – a goal and dream she had for many years.
Family and grandchildren were so very important to her. She loved spending time with them. She loved caring for others as well. She was a caregiver for many years, and ran a home for the elderly, caring for her mother, her husband and her father-in-law. Louise is survived by her daughter Kipp Graves of Crescent City, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her sister Annetta Chalstrom of Reno, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father Austin Smith, mother Ruby Parker, husband Walter Kammerer, daughter Kim Smyth, sisters Marie Matula, Loddie Croshaw and Gerry Abraham.
Redwood Memorial Chapel of Brookings, Oregon is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.redwoodmemorial.net.
