Betty L. Tiehm Aug. 4, 1928 – Dec. 23, 2009 Betty L. Tiehm passed away at her home in Brookings, OR on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. She was 81. Betty was born August 4, 1928 in Klamath Falls, OR to Carl and Mayme (Harris) Adams. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from KUHS. Betty worked as a supervisor for AT&T for 14 years. She married Harold Tiehm in Reno, NV on October 29, 1960. She opened The Willow Tree Health Food Store on East Main St. in Klamath Falls in 1977 and operated it until retirement. Betty and Harold then moved to Brookings in 1990. She loved to read, garden and knit and, in her younger years, go dancing. Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the First United Methodist Church and served with the Presbyterian Hospital Guild in Klamath Falls. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Harold of Brookings, son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” and Robyn Prather of Ashland, granddaughters, Rebecca Duppenthaler, her husband Brandon and their son Adler, of Portland and Victoria Prather of Medford. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Richard “Dick” Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Curry County Hospice, PO Box 348, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
