Obituary for Barbara L. Acklin
Barbara L. Acklin of Brookings, OR left her earthly body to return to Heavenly Father at age 69. Her leukemia of 20 years coupled with an aggressive arm cancer attacked her body. Her soul which we are greatly missing is now bringing joy in heaven. Anyone who really knew Barbara, knows that she had the rare gift of extra close communication with Heavenly Father 24/7 and a lifetime of miracles, discernment, and teaching by the Spirit which would fill volumes to the glory of God. Secondary to her Dad (Heavenly Father), was a lifetime of enjoyment and accomplishments despite all the earthly trials. During her school days, she enjoyed putting the year book together, playing short stop for her softball team, and being a leader in several clubs and projects, lead clarinet in band as well as a special instrument quartet and soloist. She lived in Madagascar and Greece as well as travelling to France, Great Britain, Spain, etc. Children, church and people gave her the greatest joy in life. A few of the publicly noted acclamations included being an A+ physical therapist, bridal consultant, window treatment and interior decorator expert, University of Redlands, CA special award. She aided in schools, Relief Society President and Sunday School Teacher, etc. at church, and helped people in so many ways all the while giving God the Glory. Barbara loved flowers and always in awe with God’s creations; and loved Quantum Physics as well. Barbara was born February 23, 1943 in Dinuba, CA to Carl and Juanita Berry. Barbara and Les celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary just last month. Children include Jeannette Hurrell of Redlands, CA; Mark Sirmans of Roseville, CA; and Tim Acklin of Arcata, CA. Barbara is a well loved Grandmother of 7 as well as a Great Grandmother of 2 … all in California. Other family members include two sisters, Judie Griffin of Marysville, CA and Paula Davis in Bakersfield, CA; 3 Aunts including Leona Penner of Orland, CA; Dee Bristow of Bakersfield, CA; and Neva Mowdy of Visalia.
