Barbara was born to Alfred Paul (1909-1986) and Ruth Eltella (Stonecipher 1912-1928) Winkelmann in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She passed away peacefully at her home in Brookings, Oregon. She has lived in Fort Wayne, IN., Beaumont, CA., Washington State, San Bernardino, Oceanside and Crescent City, CA., and Brookings, OR, throughout her life. She loved being on the ocean and fishing in her younger years along with gardening, farming, canning, knitting and crocheting.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Brookings, Oregon. Her passion was serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and making sure she shared His Word and the plan of salvation with whomever she came in contact with, either physically or on the phone. She loved her Bible Study Group and always looked forward to that special time with her special friends. She made sure others were taken care of by supplying the needy with her specially knitted hats. Most of all she loved her family and the special times they spent together. The Joy of the Lord was certainly her strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and it was the desire of her heart that everyone share that Joy with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Ruth, and step-mother Lois (Bireley) Winkelmann, her husband Harlan J. Jackson, her brothers Robert (LuAnn), Richard (Heather), Ronald, and sister Eileen Milliken.
Surviving are her children: George, Linda, Brenda, Gary and Mark, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a sister, Elaine (Tony) McGuire.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Grace Bible Church, 302 North Hazel Street in Brookings.
I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you. I go to prepare a place for you? I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. An you know the way to where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not now where You are going. How can we know the way?" Jesus said to him: "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known my Father also. From no on you do know Him and have seen Him." John 14: 1-7
