Barbara Byrtus
November 21, 1934 – September 21, 2023
Barbara Jean Byrtus of Brookings, Oregon passed away September 21st, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in Spiro, Oklahoma, to George McClain Tibbitts and Lucille Vivian Tibbitts on November 21st, 1934.
Barbara was lovingly known as “grrgrr” by her great-great grandchildren. She had a lovely presence and a joy for life. Barbara never missed a holiday with her family, and truly enjoyed spending time with them. She was generous, kind
and loving. Her smile surely will be missed. She enjoyed her card games with her friends, watching the surf and reading.
She is survived by her daughter Denise Priest and husband Melvin Priest, and by Ken and Virginia Byrtus; Granddaughters Wendy Priest and Brandi Priest. Great grandchildren Destiny Priest, Dawson Priest Grazzioli, Jace and Cameron Grazzioli . Great-great-grandchildren Haven and Nova Priest; Nephews Craig and Jimmy Tibbitts, loving families, friends and neighbors.
Viewing will be held Thursday, October 5th at 12:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St., Brookings, Oregon. Graveside Service follows at 3:00p.m. at the W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery, 1035 7th Street, Brookings. Oregon.
