Obituary for Avagene Rutter
Avagene Rutter peacefully went to heaven from her home in Harbor, Oregon on May 13, 2012. She was 95. Avagene was born August 15, 1916 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Ernest and Minnie (Whitwright) Bolinger. In 1961, she married Clifford Rutter in Reno, Nevada. She held many jobs throughout her life including an operator with Pacific Bell and as a fruit packer with Harry & David. Once retired, Avagene enjoyed volunteering, especially with the Chetco Library where she was named “Volunteer of the Year.” She loved reading, gardening, collecting figurines and horses. Most importantly, though, Avagene loved her family, especially her great grandchildren, Kiera and Riley, daughters of grandson, Frank Moulton. Avagene is also survived by grandson, Steven Moulton and his wife, Rene, sister-in law, Margene Bollinger, daughters by marriage, Sharon Dykeman and Becky Ferguson, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her sons, M. Dean Moulton and John Ivan Moulton, sister, Catherine Craig, brother, Stanley Bollinger and husband, Clifford Rutter. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St. in Brookings. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens, 2500 Upper River Rd. in Grants Pass, where Avagene will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clifford.
