Obituary for Audrey Mae Rust
Audrey Mae Rust was born August 17, 1937 at Portland, Oregon to Orbray and Roeberta (Stotts) St.Clair, and raised by her mother and step-father Vernon Shields. She married Carl Rust on January 31, 1956 in Boise, Idaho and together they raised a family. Carl was born in 1932 and passed away in 2000. Audrey was the president of the Real Estate Board in Brookings for many years, and a standing member of the Brookings Elks Lodge. After Carl passed, she moved to Portland for awhile, but later came back to Brookings. She is survived by her daughter Carole Rust, son Carl Rust and his wife Stacy of Brookings, six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; also a brother Butch Shields of Coos Bay and a sister Carol Phillipi of Vancouver, WA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 18th at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield Street in Brookings. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
