Obituary for Audrey LaVonne Engh
Audrey LaVonne Engh February 11, 1934 – March 22, 2018
Audrey LaVonne (Hink) Engh, a resident of Gold Beach, Oregon passed away on March 22, 2018 in Gold Beach. She was 84. Audrey was born in Coon Valley, Wisconsin on February 11, 1934 to Elmer and Ruth (Larson) Hink. She graduated at Westby High School in 1952 and worked as a teletype operator in the US Airforce from 1953 to 1955. She married Richard Milnor Engh in Burbank, California on July 6, 1957, and they moved to Santa Ana where Richard served in the United States Marine Corps. They moved to Burbank in 1960 where Audrey worked as a teletype operator at Hughes Aircraft in Culver City in the mid-sixties. Audrey and Richard came to Gold Beach in 2003. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Gold Beach, OR where she sang in the choir and was a hospitality group member. She loved gardening, needlepoint, talking about politics and the ocean. Audrey loved her family; husband, children and grandchildren. Audrey is survived by her spouse Richard Engh of Gold Beach, OR; two daughters; Kathy (Mike) Lawrence of Burbank, CA and Carrie (Andrew) Woodburn of Laguna Beach, CA; two brothers; John Hink of Alabama and Waldo (Donna) Hink of Florida; five grandchildren Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cindy (Engh) Chandler and a brother Harold. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5th St. and Ellensburg Ave. in Gold Beach. A reception will follow the service.
