Obituary for Alice Pearl Mulvaney
Alice Pearl Mulvaney, 76, of Brookings OR, passed away in the home of her best friend Gayle Ross on May 7, 2015. Alice was born January 14, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Edna Bromann. She grew up in Chicago attending St. Ita grammar school and Good Counsel high school. Alice was a homemaker raising her four boys. She was also a part of the Women's Club and the Friday Night Crowd. She worked as an Executive Secretary, Office Manager, and Roofer. When Alice left Chicago, she traveled all over the US and wound up in Brookings 25 years ago. She bought shares in Sunstone and Opal mines and mined for precious stones. She loved creating, designing and making jewelry. Most recently, she worked at Pacific Coast Antiques collecting and selling rare items. She and her best friend Gayle loved to travel. They both had a passion for singing and were a part of the ORCA choral group. Alice will be best remembered as an amazing Woman, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister and Friend. She loved life and lived it expressively and creatively. Survivors include her sons, Nicholas Mulvaney and his wife, Kimberly of Chicago, IL, Anthony Mulvaney of San Diego, CA, Matthew Mulvaney of Florida, Dominic Mulvaney and his wife, Tracy of Chicago, IL, sisters, Carol Oldershaw of Arizona and Dorothy Young of New Jersey, and six grandchildren (Adan, Christian, Eddie, Amanda, Jimmy and Isabella). Alice was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Luna and Barbara Rhodenschmidt. Private services will be held. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family
