Obituary for Albert Schmidt
Albert Schmidt August 29, 1926 - June 13, 2011 Albert Schmidt, of Gold Beach, passed away June 13th at Sea View Senior Living Community in Brookings. He was 84. Albert was born August 29, 1926 in Sunnyvale, CA to Conrad and Eva (Beam) Schmidt. On Feb. 22, 1970, he married Helen Mae Daugherty in Reno, Nev. In 1971, the Schmidt's moved to Missouri for a few years where he worked as a welder, and used to weld boxing rings for Mohammed Ali before returning to California. Mr. Schmidt lived in California most of his life where he was primarily employed by Reliance Trailers in Rohnert Park. Following his retirement they moved to Gold Beach. Mrs. Schmidt died in 2010. Mr. Schmidt enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle and camping. He is survived by four daughters; Marian Mayo of Portland, OR; Donna Sims and her husband Chuck of Montana; Carol Miller of Washington; and Georgia Martin and her husband Everett of Gold Beach; two sons: Robbie Glenn of Sacramento, CA, and David Carter of Washington. Grandchildren include Gene Martin and his wife Michelle, Karlee Chenoweth, and Paul Martin and his wife Angie; great-grandchildren Crystal & Codi Chenoweth and Joshua Martin, all of Gold Beach. Services will be held at a later date.
