Obituary for Roger Duane Gabrielson
Roger Duane Gabrielson Feb. 4, 1948 – Dec. 16, 2017
Long time Brookings resident Roger Duane Gabrielson passed away on December 16, 2017. He was born February 4, 1948 in Stanchfield, Minnesota, to James R. And Dorothy G. (Vegsund). His mother died when he was a child.
Roger served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970 and was a combat veteran of Vietnam. He was married June 18, 1994 in Brookings, to Rose Marie Dimmick. Roger worked at Pacific Wood Laminates for 20 years before his retirement. He later managed AAA Stor-All which he loved, and all the tenants loved him. He thoroughly enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing in the Brookings area, but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Roger is survived by his wife Rose, children Kristi Testa and Jason Dimmick of Brookings, Duane Gabrielson and his wife Ayren, and Tammie Gabrielson of Sacramento, CA; brothers David Gabrielson and his wife Arlene, Jerry Norman and his wife Sue, and sister Gayle Bergloff; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In memory of Roger, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A Celebration of Life is planned for July 7, 2018 with details to be published at a later date.
