Obituary for Katherine L. Bonde
Katherine L. Bonde (NO DATES) Kathy was not only held near and dear to all our hearts, she was, and forever will be cherished. In life, she’s who taught us love, hot to mend and nurture it. In death, she will have taught us love, and how to heal from the pain that it has left us. A woman so level-headed, so grounded, is now and always was heaven sent. A true angel has walked this earth, a blessing to all whom encountered her. Kathy met Darrel Bonde when she trekked from Denver, Colorado, to Brookings, Oregon at the age of twenty-one. Kathy met the love of her life and as they say, “the rest is history”. Fifty years of love, of new and exciting beginnings, new, frightening endings. Fifty years of pure selflessness. Bringing to the world, her own creations – two daughters, four grandchildren and most recently, a great granddaughter. Along with her array of water colored landscapes. Always putting her heart into everything. This woman was pure. This woman deserved the world and that’s exactly what her husband, Darrel, gave her. From her “Booger cookie” nicknames, to her famous “roll up pancakes”. Her life was lived through love, and that’s exactly how we will remember her as. It’s with great sorrow that we’re saying goodbye, but we’ll see you again, grandma, when its finally our time. Kathy is survived by her mother Lorraine Hedenskog, two brothers, Ron and Len Hedenskog, husband of 50 years Darrel Bonde, and her two daughters. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
