Obituary for Jerry William King
Jerry W. King Dec. 28, 1951 – Aug. 12, 2017
Our beloved Jerry William King walked the stairway to heaven on the morning of August 12, 2017. Jerry was born to Jackie Lee and Lila Arlene King on December 28, 1951 in Myrtle Point, OR. Jerry was born with physical and mental disabilities, and lived an amazing, yet challenging life that never slowed him down.
He was larger than life and loved by many. If you ever spent time in Brookings Harbor or Gold Beach, chances are Jerry brightened your day with a one of a kind smile or by making you laugh. Jerry spent his time volunteering, attending festivals regularly, events at Azalea Park, picnics up at Loeb Park, fires on the beach, movies, concerts, and much more. He enjoyed singing the hymns and participating in the services at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. Jerry was always excited to do new things with his family and friends.
Jerry's Mentor family made it possible for Jerry to enjoy life to the fullest, as he did. Jerry knew no strangers as everyone was his friend. The joy he brought to our lives will never be forgotten.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Lila Arlene King and sister Janice Susan King, countless aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, and cousins. He joins in heaven his father Jackie Lee King and his sister Joyce Ann Julian and many others.
Please join us in the memorial service to Jerry at the St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Brookings, OR on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in remembrance of our beloved Jerry. A reception will follow.
