Obituary for Carol Rose Crow
Carol Rose Crow went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2017. Carol was born in Wausau, Wisconsin to Gustav Keene and Nellie (Hornung) Keene on July 13, 1940, joining her brother Tom and sister Arliss. She moved to Milwaukee, Wis. at the age of 9 months and lived there until her dad got a job in the Los Angeles area moving the family to Temple City, CA in 1952. She always attended the Catholic school system and graduated from San Gabriel Mission High School in 1958. She married Michael Crow her spouse of almost 57 years in Temple City, CA in 1960. When married they lived in West Covina, CA and retired there in 1995 to settle in Brookings, OR. They had six children together, Catherine, Celeste, Mary, identical twins Thomas and Jonathon, and then David their lovely surprise. Carol is predeceased by her husband Michael who passed on March fifteenth of this year and Jonathan who went ahead of her at the age of 8 to meet her in the Kingdom. Carol was a homemaker. She loved reading and homemaking. For a time Carol worked as a Litigation Support Specialist for the law office of O’Melveny and Myers in Los Angeles. She later worked for Noth West College, teaching Dressing For Business. She accomplished certification in Library Technology and worked in the county of Los Angeles library system in West Covina, CA from which she retired. She found time to be a Hospice volunteer in the San Gabriel Valley, CA. She loved teaching Religious Education to the Junior High level and did so for 27 years. She was a steadfast member of the Chetco Chatterers Toastmasters International and received her Advanced Communicator Gold. Funeral arrangements are by Redwood Memorial Chapel and services will be at Star of the Sea Catholic church on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a Children’s Hospital of your choice.
